VCRE PARTNERS WITH TIỀN PHONG TO PROVIDE 10,000 ACCIDENT INSURANCE CARDS FOR DISADVANTAGED STUDENTS IMPACTED BY TYPHOON YAGI

On September 27, Tiền Phong Newspaper received 10,000 accident insurance cards for students facing difficulties after Typhoon Yagi from Viet Capital Real Estate Company.

At the representative office of Tiền Phong Newspaper in Ho Chi Minh City, Mrs. Lê Nguyễn Hà Uyên, Marketing Communications Director of Viet Capital Real Estate (VCRE), and Mrs. Lê Ngọc Quỳnh Như, Head of Public Relations at VCRE, presented the symbolic gift of 10,000 accident insurance cards for students affected by Typhoon Yagi to the representative of Tiền Phong Newspaper.

Ms. Lê Ngọc Quỳnh Như, Head of Public Relations at VCRE, expressed the following to Tiền Phong’s representative:

“Viet Capital Real Estate is a real estate development enterprise, founded in 2007, and a member company of Phoenix Holdings. VCRE develops premium real estate projects with artistic value, including high-rise residential buildings, commercial buildings, serviced apartments, villas, and townhouses, as well as other complex projects in Ho Chi Minh City and other developing areas in Vietnam.

With partners of strong capital and an experienced team, VCRE’s mission is to develop projects that contribute to Vietnam’s economic growth while offering refined living experiences for residents.

The donation of insurance cards for students in storm-affected areas—who represent the future generation of the nation—is something Viet Capital Real Estate pays close attention to. When we learned about the ‘Supporting Students Back to School with Tiền Phong’ program, we saw it as a practical and meaningful initiative, and were eager to accompany Tiền Phong Newspaper. In the future, if Tiền Phong organizes similar programs, VCRE will be ready to participate,” Mrs. Uyên said.

Receiving this support from VCRE, journalist Lý Thành Tâm—Party Committee Member, Secretary of the Party Cell, and Head of Tiền Phong Newspaper’s Representative Office in Ho Chi Minh City—expressed his gratitude for the noble deeds and goodwill that Viet Capital Real Estate has extended to the children and people in storm-affected areas.

Journalist Lý Thành Tâm shared that Tiền Phong is a socio-political newspaper under the management of the Central Committee of the Hồ Chí Minh Communist Youth Union. On November 16, 1953, Tiền Phong published its first edition, and it is now 71 years old. Along with consistently fulfilling the political tasks of the Youth Union newspaper, Tiền Phong has also organized numerous social, charitable, cultural, and sports activities.

Recently, Typhoon No. 3 (Typhoon Yagi) was considered the strongest storm in 30 years in the East Sea. From September 7 to 9, 2024, the storm and its aftermath swept through many provinces in northern Vietnam.

The loss and devastation caused by the storm have deeply saddened us all. Over 257,000 houses, 1,300 schools, and 310,000 trees were damaged; lives were left in ruins in the storm’s wake. To this day, landslides, mountain collapses, and subsidence are still occurring in many areas. Many families have been shrouded in mourning, and many children are left without the warmth of their parents. There remains the heart-wrenching question: Where will these children’s lives go now that such sudden loss and sorrow have struck?

The storm left 55 children dead or missing, with 8 others injured and receiving treatment in hospitals. Around 100 children were left orphaned. Schools collapsed or were damaged, and in many places, children are being provided temporary conditions for education, with makeshift classrooms—even using tents—so that their learning can continue despite the aftermath of the storm.

In hopes of sharing and helping orphaned students and children in difficult circumstances, Tiền Phong Newspaper collaborated with various organizations to launch the ‘Supporting Students Back to School with Tiền Phong’ program, aiming to raise resources to offer savings accounts, accident insurance cards, and scholarships for orphaned and disadvantaged students. The program also donates teaching equipment and school supplies to students and schools affected by the storm.

‘On behalf of Tiền Phong Newspaper, I would like to thank the company and promise to use the resources from Viet Capital Real Estate transparently and effectively to support the children in storm-affected areas,’ journalist Lý Thành Tâm said.”
